Gifted and Talented Adults Wanted!

The talents that you take for granted could make all the difference to your school.

Friends of Pangbourne Primary School want to start a register of skills.

Making your talents known in the community you live in is a great way to network and increase opportunities for the school and the individual.

If you have a talent that you think might come in useful one day let us know.

Just jot your talent down, ways you think it might come in useful to your school community. When opportunities arise we will put them up on the website and let people know what we require. It will be up to the person to accept the challenge or not.

The interior of the school could do with a lick of paint – any painters and decorators out there?

People in the trade who can help with paint at wholesale prices?

The gardens could always do with some attention – any gardeners out there? Any spare plants? Someone in the nursery business? A seasonal shake up one weekend a quarter will help keep an area of the school inspiring the love of gardening and nature in the next generation.

The fences need constant love and attention to keep them up to the job of keeping our children safe. A row of fence could be sponsored by your family for the small price of a quarterly maintenance visit.

The foundation stage playground gets a lot of hard wear and tear. A quarterly weekend day blitz would see it give many years of pleasure to our new learners.

We all want our kids to lead healthier lives and one of the ways they can is to ride their bikes to school. Our current bike shelter lacks a roof and room. The bikes could do with some shelter from the rain so our kids do not get wet bums on the way home.

Why not hold a barn raising?

We need some raw materials – wood, cladding, waterproofing, paint etc.

We need an architect/planner to do up some simple plans. We need some builders/carpenters to put together the structure.

We need some handy men and women to complete finish and paint the structure.

We need a good picnic lunch and a supply of warm beverages

There are many other things inside and outside our school that could do with a loving hand every quarter. Make a suggestion of something you would like to adopt! Make a community day out of it and join some other families in adopting an area.
